Simulation Working Group (SimWG)

The main tasks of the SimWG are:

  1. Coordinate development of SKA simulation software suitable for addressing various issues of SKA design (such as SKA configurations, data flow management, power supply, etc.

  2. Assist in simulations of the SKA configurations proposed by the candidate sites, and generate standard figures-of-merit;

  3. Obtain an objective evaluation of the different technical concepts for the SKA;

  4. Provide input materials for understanding of the modes in which the telescope will operate;

  5. Participate in SKA science simulations; and

  6. Help develop an SKA engineering cost/performance simulator together with the appropriate project experts.
