ASKAP: Phased Array Feeds for Radio Astronomy

CSIRO’s next generation telescope, the Australian SKA Pathfinder, will be one of the most powerful survey radio astronomy instruments on the planet, thanks to an innovative new receiver system that has been developed specifically for ASKAP. These receivers, known as phased array feeds (PAFs), are a breakthrough in compact economical design and will capture radio images with unprecedented sensitivity over a large area of sky.
